The cast of Waiting for the Parade is in its final week of rehearsal for their November 11th, 12th and 13th performance at Cawston Community Hall.

Director, Shai Snyder, has been involved in theatre all of her life and was active with companies in Vancouver and Penticton before settling in the Similkameen Valley.

With the Cawston Players, Snyder brought her talents to the role of Martine in Moliere's Doctor in Spite of Himself and as Madeline in last year's production of Francois Archimbault's You Will Remember Me.

In directing Waiting for The Parade, Snyder says, "I have loved this piece for some years and actually played the role of Marta for Penticton's Progress Theatre Company production in 1999."

Concerning play direction, Snyder says, "Pick a play that you love, find the actors best suited for the roles and then put your heart and soul into it."

Waiting for The Parade is about five women attached through a community hall drop-in centre for soldiers passing through Calgary from 1939-1945. Swing music, battle sounds, tender music, and sad and raucous moments play out in series of vignettes on stage at The Cawston Hall.

Tickets are $12 at Similkameen Agencies in Keremeos and at The Cawston Market place.

Shows are at 7:30 Friday and Saturday, November 11 and 12, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday November 13th.

Inquiries at 250-499-5417.
