Casey Kasem's children to share medical records with widow who is suing Washington hospital

Original Publication Date December 24, 2014 - 10:15 AM

TACOMA, Wash. - The children of radio legend Casey Kasem say they will share all the hospital records in their possession with his widow, who is suing a hospital in Washington state to learn more about the last weeks of his life.

They said in a statement Wednesday that the records would show all appropriate measures were taken to preserve his life, and when it was clear he was dying, to allow him to die comfortably.

The statement came in response to their stepmother Jean Kasem's lawsuit seeking records from St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor, where the "American Top 40" host died last June at the age of 82. He had dementia.

Jean Kasem and Casey Kasem's three adult children from his first marriage fought a lengthy legal battle over his care.
