VW Turtle River Race Ticket Seller - Volunteers are needed to help Western Canada Theatre raise funds by selling raffle tickets for our 14th Annual VW Turtle River Race. Responsibilities include tracking the number of tickets sold during shifts, handling monies, documenting sales, and reporting to the fundraising coordinator. YMCA Camp Deka Group Leaders - Group Leaders will provide opportunities and experiences for campers which promote growth and development in spirit, mind, and body through the embodiment of our core values (Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility). Group Leaders will provide leadership and role modelling to campers ages 8-16. They will assist with planning and delivering programming and facilitating skills development. The ideal staff member is a flexible team player who embodies the YMCA values and has a positive, enthusiastic attitude. Resource Development Committee Member - The volunteers will work with the Executive Director and the Fund Developer to develop and implement the Society’s fund development plans. This will include assisting in the planning of the 3rd Annual Hearts for Homes Gala in November. All the members will need to attend the regularly scheduled meetings once a month. Harvest Leaders - The Gleaning Abundance Project are looking for Harvest Leaders to help ensure the success of each and every pick. They make sure all volunteers know how to pick and sort the fruit and use a ladder safely. They weigh the harvest, and coordinate the split & delivery. Social Support Volunteers - The volunteers will assist the staff with social outings, one-to-one, and/or group visits, and other activities such as: Garden Patch TLC helpers, cards, crib, board games, bingo, sing-a-longs, dancing, crafts, special events, shuffle board, teas, refreshments, dinners, shopping, Wii games, and reading, etc. The volunteers need to be reliable, responsible, have good communication skills, be punctual, and be able to physically push a wheelchair. 16+ to volunteer. 250-374-5671 Ext: 4410.

Meals On Wheels Drivers - We're looking for volunteers to pick up meals at the Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) and deliver them to clients' homes (Southshore and Northshore) between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Tues. & Thurs. The drivers brighten the day for many people in our community that are home bound by showing concern, checking in, and having a friendly short chat. The volunteers will use their own vehicles and gas. A tax receipt will be issued at the end of the year for mileage driven. 18+ to volunteer. 250-554-3134.
The Gleaning Abundance Project
Harvest Volunteers - The Gleaning Abundance Project are looking for individual & group volunteers to help harvest excess fruit from residential trees. The volunteers will share in the harvest with the other shares going to the homeowners and various non-profits. 13+ to volunteer, and family volunteering friendly. Ridgeview Lodge
Recreation Volunteers - Volunteers are needed to help with a variety of recreational programs including: Crib, Board Games, Bingo, Sing-a-longs, Dancing, Crafts, Outdoor Walks, Special Events or 1-to-1 visits. Volunteers will also assist in transporting the residents in wheelchairs to the programs, and assist the staff with serving refreshments, and with the programs. Volunteers are especially needed to help with Bingo on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1-3 pm, and on Fridays for their Happy Hour from 2-4 pm. The Volunteers will be reliable, responsible, have good communications skills, be punctual, and be able to physically push a wheelchair. 17+ to volunteer.
