KELOWNA – A local filmmaker whose own passion project is to recognize the talents of everyday people in our communities has released his latest project.

Clayton Arnall’s Passionate Nobodies is a film series that explores the creative ways Okanagan residents express themselves.

His short films are expertly filmed and edited and have explored the worlds of a local origami artist, a fashion blogger, a musician and a woman who makes self-portraits.

His latest release is about Zac Gauthier of Kelowna.

“Zac Gauthier literally beats on things for a living,” Arnall says in the description. “A lot of musicians wonder if it's possible to make a living playing music. Zac is a great example of a person who's taken his love for the drums and turned it into his passion and career. Everything from playing trash kits on the street, to teaching, to recording in the studio, follow along to hear how Zac has turned his vision into a reality.”

In the six-minute film, Gauthier talks about the pressure he felt to find a real career.

"I do not want to drum on the weekends," he says. "I want to drum every day."

Gauthier plays a "normal drum kit" but incorporates buckets, pots, pans and other everyday items he finds at hardware stores and even in the trash for his busking.

"I just start hitting things to see what works and what doesn't."
