KELOWNA – Soccer just got a whole lot safer, and a whole lot more fun, with a sport which lets you feel what it’s like to be the ball.

Bouncing Soccer Kelowna is behind the Okanagan’s newest and craziest outdoor sport.

Started by Kelowna residents Rebeca Espinosa and her husband David Corbo, Bouncing Soccer lets players wrap themselves in a round, inflatable suit that protects them from impact and injury. Espinosa says the sport is already very popular in Australia and parts of Europe and hopes it will catch on here as well.

"It’s an incredibly fun and adrenaline infused game, and we know Okanagan residents will love it,” Espinosa says.

The rules are the same as with traditional soccer, but the awkward padding gives it a hilarious new twist. Players bump into each other, fall down and have to struggle to get upright.

“It’s a blast, it really is,” Corbo says. “You can’t help but laugh because it looks so crazy and fun. You can run full tilt and bounce off your opponent, and you won’t be hurt.”

They currently have suits for anyone over the age of 12, but say they have a plan to include kids as young as seven.

“It can be an adrenaline rushed game for a group of adults, or a fun, relaxed outdoor event for a childs birthday party,” Espinosa says. “It’s versatile, and great for all ages and events.”

Rental rates are charged per hour.
