Vernon woman seriously injured after being hit in parking lot

A 50-year-old Vernon woman suffered serious life-threatening injuries after she was hit by a vehicle in a Vernon parking lot yesterday.

According to a Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media release, the incident took place at 2:30 p.m. yesterday, Dec. 16, in the parking lot of a business in the 2500 block of 53 Avenue.

Police, ambulance and fire crews were all called to the scene.

The 50-year-old woman was rushed to hospital for the treatment of serious, life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the woman remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.

Vernon RCMP is asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision, and not yet spoken to investigators, to please contact Vernon RCMP Const. Richard Lausman at 250-545-7171.
