PENTICTON – The BCHL season is over for the Vernon Vipers after losing 2-0 to the Vees in Penticton last night, March 22.

Patrick Sexton’s goal at 17:07 of the third period proved to be the game winner, as the Vees took the BCHL Interior Division playoff series. It was Sexton’s first goal of the playoffs.

Penticton’s Matt Serratore scored into an empty net with four-seconds left in regulation to the deafening cheers of the capacity crowd in the South Okanagan Events Centre, sealing the Snakes’ fate.

Danny Todosychuk, who is one of ten Vipers graduating this year, stopped 27 of 28 shots he faced.

The Vees advance to the three-team BCHL round robin with the Nanaimo Clippers and the Chilliwack Chiefs, all vying for a spot in the Fred Page Cup Final.
