VERNON - A Vernon teen is appealing to the public for help after her 'emotional support ferret' went missing this week.

Sienna Sky's ferret 'Seavey' dashed out the door of her East Hill home at around midnight Monday, May 13, leaving the 14-year-old devastated by his disappearance.

Sky is hoping someone will see Seavey, realize he's not a wild animal and see him safely returned. He disappeared from her home near 39 Avenue and 16 Street in Vernon.

Sky said her ferret is more than just a pet, he's an emotional support animal for her.

"He's one of the things that makes me happier," she said.

Sky said the first day after Seavey disappeared was "the worst," but a sighting of him later that afternoon is giving her faith he's still around and will be found.

Sky said her ferret is friendly and doesn't bite. If someone sees him Sky said he would probably allow them to pick him up without biting them. He would probably come to a person if they had a squeaky toy.

"He's not like a rat that has to be in a cage... he's like a mix of a bunch of different animals," she said. "He doesn't look like a cat or dog, but he acts like one."

Seavey is about a foot in length with a long tail, and has white and brown fur.

Anyone with any information about Seavey's whereabouts can call Sky's mom Danielle Percy at 250-540-4861.
