VERNON - Police have identified an alleged fraudster in Vernon.

A photo of the suspect was released earlier this week, along with information that he was believed to have used stolen credit cards throughout the Vernon area. At the time, police asked anyone with information about the man to contact the RCMP.

“This suspect has since been identified and no further information is needed,” RCMP spokesperson Const. Kelly Brett says in a release issued on Thursday, Jan. 18. “The Vernon RCMP would like to thank the citizens of Vernon who provided information on this suspect.”

The release does not say if charges have been laid, and it does not appear that any charges were sworn in Vernon court as of Thursday afternoon.

The suspect’s name has not been released.
