Vernon RCMP have released video footage of a vehicle which purposely hit a cyclist, in an effort to identify the suspects in the vehicle.

The video footage shows a white Jeep driving into the 47-year-old cyclist, who is knocked off his bike as the vehicle continues to drag the bicycle along. Two men then got out of the vehicle and assaulted the cyclist.

The assault took place March 24 at roughly 6: 45 p.m. at the 2000 block of 43 Street in Vernon. Following the assault, police released a statement asking for witnesses.

In a Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP media release July 13, police are again asking for help identifying the suspects.

"Police have continued to investigate the incident over the past several months and we have determined there were three occupants in the vehicle," Vernon RCMP spokesperson Corp. Tania Finn said in the release. "Our investigators have located and seized the white Jeep Cherokee involved but we are still looking to identify the male driver and the two male passengers."

Police have obtained video surveillance of the incident and are asking the public to watch the video in an effort to identify the three suspects involved in the assault.

Anyone which information is urged to contact Sgt. David Evans at the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP on 250-545-7171.
