Vernon RCMP investigate shots fired

VERNON - Police are investigating a report of shots fired yesterday evening in Vernon.

RCMP Sgt. Mike Moyer says the incident was reported just after 5 p.m., April 21, in the 3400-block of Okanagan Avenue. Police attended and confirmed shots had been fired. 

“At this point in our investigation, and it’s still under investigation, there were no injuries and no property damage,” Moyer says.

Specific details about the incident such as how many people were involved, whether the incident occurred inside or outside, and exactly how many shots were fired are not being released.

“Any of that detail is still under investigation,” Moyer says.

Officers do not believe there is any related threat to public safety.
