VERNON - He charged purchases to a stolen credit card, and now police are charging him with possession of stolen property.

Police believe the man got the credit card out of a wallet he stole from a car in the Findlay Road area of Coldstream the night of Sept. 30.

The card was subsequently used at several businesses around Vernon, leading to his arrest, RCMP Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy says.

The man faces possession of stolen property charges and was scheduled to appear in court today, Oct. 13.

Police don’t have any evidence linking the man to a number of other recent thefts from vehicles, but Noseworthy says they’re looking into it.

“(Police) are reminding the public to lock their vehicles at all times, and don’t leave valuables in your vehicle.”
