Vernon RCMP ask driver in fatal hit and run to do the right thing

Vernon RCMP are investigating a fatal hit and run that happened early this morning.

A vehicle hit and killed a pedestrian at around 4 a.m. today, Nov. 6, in the 4300 block of 25 Avenue in Vernon, according to an RCMP press release.

"The vehicle that hit the man is believed to be a white, 2021-2023 Kia Seltos that will have damage to the front driver side," Vernon RCMP spokesperson Const. Chris Terleski said in the release. "We're asking the driver, or owner of the vehicle, to do the right thing and come forward and speak to us."

The victim’s identity has not been released because RCMP are still in the process of contacting next of kin and confirming his identity.

RCMP’s Integrated Collision Analyst and Reconstruction Service was on the scene and is part of the ongoing investigation.
