Vernon RCMP arrest man wanted on numerous charges

VERNON - Police arrested a man after a brief foot chase in Vernon yesterday evening.

Police attended an address on Okanagan Landing Road around 6 p.m. Aug. 13 to arrest Dale James Williams, 28, on numerous outstanding warrants, RCMP Sgt. Janelle Shoihet says in a media release.

He tried to evade police by running through a nearby creek, but was apprehended without incident after a short chase.

Williams is expected to appear in Vernon court on numerous charges including break and enter, fraud, theft of motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, driving while prohibited, breach of a recognizance, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
