VERNON - A Vernon physiotherapist is now facing 14 charges of sexual assault after 10 more victims have come forward to police.
Stephen Witvoet was charged with 10 charges of sexual assault on June 26, adding to four charges already laid against the physiotherapist.
Witvoet was originally arrested in December 2017 and charged with two counts of sexual assault dating back to July 2015 and November 2016. These charges stem from allegations made by patients undergoing treatment.
On June 10, Witvoet was rearrested and charged with two counts of sexual assault for incidents alleged to have occurred between September 2015 and January 2016. Following the arrest, the RCMP issued a release seeking more potential victims, as Witvoet had been practising since 2005.
The lastest 10 charges all date from incidents alleged to have taken place between June 2009 and April 2018.
The 47-year-old practiced out of the Thrive Physiotherapy and Sport Injury Clinic in Vernon.
College of Physical Therapists of B.C. issued a statement June 17 stating it was currently conducting its own investigation.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
