A Vernon suspect labelled a prolific offender by RCMP is behind bars after police caught up with him last month.
The Vernon man was wanted for a string of robberies throughout the Okanagan.
The crimes were committed between Oct. 18 and Nov. 14. from Vernon to Osoyoos, including two in the Penticton area, according to an RCMP media release.
Shawn Lamouroux, 37, was arrested on Nov. 18, thanks to a joint effort by law enforcement across the Okanagan valley, RCMP said. Police didn't say where he was arrested.
Officers with Prolific Offender Management teams from both Penticton and Vernon, along with members of West Kelowna’s General Investigation Section, conducted a joint investigation, which led to his identification and arrest, RCMP said.
“With our local detachment’s specialized sections working together on these files, a suspect was quickly identified and within days an arrest was able to be made,” Penticton media relations officer Const. James Grandy said in the release.
The B.C. Prosecution Service has approved seven counts of robbery.
