A vehicle incident near Merritt this morning is causing major delays along the Coquihalla.

The incident was reported Nov. 5, south of Merritt near Comstock Road. Highway crews are on route, according to DriveB.C.

"Please drive with caution in the area. Expect major delays," according to DriveB.C.

The Crown agency is also reporting a closure at West Kelowna's Glenrosa Road and Highway 97 due to a vehicle incident. Highway crews are also on route and an assessment is in progress. On Highway 97C, a vehicle incident is also impacting the westbound lanes between Kelowna and Merritt at Brenda Mine Road, according to DriveB.C. Crews are on route and an assessment is in progress.

Winter tires or chains are now required on most B.C. highways from Oct. 1 to April 30.

In the last few days, multiple vehicle accidents caused highway closures across the Interior. A snowfall warning was also in effect for much of the region.

DriveB.C. warns drivers to reduce speeds and leave more following distance due to the winter conditions.
