Vehicle hits store at Vernon mall

The Dollarama in The Shops at Polson Park at Highway 6 and Kalamalka Lake Road was damaged Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021 when the driver behind the wheel of a late model Ford Escape drove over the sidewalk in the parking lot and into the side of the store.

A driver hit a store in a Vernon mall this afternoon smashing a window.

The Dollarama in The Shops at Polson Park at Highway 6 and Kalamalka Lake Road was damaged, Oct. 24, when the driver behind the wheel of a late model Ford Escape drove over the sidewalk in the parking lot and into the side of the store.

RCMP, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene.

Gordon Taylor, the assistant manager at Dollarama, said he heard a loud bang while he was working in the store’s office.

He said no employees were hurt and it didn’t appear anyone in the vehicle was injured.

No dollar amount on the damage to the store was immediately available and no word if the driver will be ticketed.
