Tourist from Regina killed during tumble into central B.C. waterfall

CHASE, - Not paying heed to warning signs has cost a Saskatchewan tourist his life at a popular vacation spot near Chase, in B.C's Interior.

Police say the 23-year-old man from Regina died when he fell into a river and over waterfalls in Albas Falls Provincial Park near Shuswap Lake.

Chase RCMP say the man was with a group of friends who beached their houseboat near the falls to go for a late-morning hike on Tuesday.

Once at the top of the falls, the man crossed two barriers warning of the dangers before turning around for a photo when he slipped and fell into the water.

His friends found him floating in a pool of water downstream, but were not able to revive him.

The man's name has not yet been released.
