PHILADELPHIA - Another batch of heavy snow and frigid temperatures is forecast from Virginia to New England as a winter storm bears down on the mid-Atlantic and northeastern United States.
The National Weather Service says the winter storm could bring up to 25 centimetres of snow Tuesday to New York and Philadelphia and bitterly cold air with wind chills as low as -23 C later in the day.
It warned of heavy winds and hazardous driving conditions throughout the day as the storm moves up the East Coast.
Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing in many places for most of the week, though it's not likely to be as bone-chilling as the recent polar vortex.
The weather service warns the storm could impact the morning commute in Baltimore and Washington.
