NEW YORK, N.Y. - Anna Chlumsky will replace Rose Byrne in Broadway's zany play "You Can't Take It With You."

Producers said Tuesday that Chlumsky, the star of the film "My Girl" and HBO's "Veep," will make her Broadway debut starting Jan. 6, going into the comedy together with Richard Thomas, who replaces Mark Linn-Baker as her father.

The plot centres on a young woman who must introduce her fiance's strait-laced family to her rather more eccentric family. The play, which was written by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, won a Pulitzer Prize.

Chlumsky and Thomas, who starred on "The Waltons," will join current cast members James Earl Jones, Elizabeth Ashley, Annaleigh Ashford, Byron Jennings, Kristine Nielsen and Reg Rogers.
