Ohio attorney suspended as female clients say he secretly hypnotized them for sexual pleasure

CLEVELAND - A Cleveland-area attorney accused of hypnotizing women for his sexual pleasure has been immediately suspended by the state Supreme Court.

The court received written allegations against Sheffield Village attorney Michael Fine. A court spokesman says Monday's suspension of Fine before a disciplinary hearing is rare.

Two women Fine represented have told authorities he tried to hypnotize them or succeeded in hypnotizing them. One says it happened numerous times over more than a year during phone calls or during meetings at Fine's office and in conference rooms at the Lorain County Justice Center.

The Lorain County Bar Association petitioned the court last week in a motion saying Fine poses a substantial threat to the public.

Fine's attorney says he agreed to the suspension and is undergoing medical treatment.
