The painting was bequeathed by Fawcett to the University of Texas at Austin in 2010. The university is suing Oscar-nominated actor Ryan O’Neal to gain possession of a second Fawcett portrait done by Warhol. Attorneys for the University of Texas at Austin and O’Neal each made their arguments to a Los Angeles jury on Monday Dec. 16, 2013that their clients are rightful owner of a disputed Andy Warhol portrait of the late Farrah Fawcett. LOS ANGELES, Calif. - A jury has reached a verdict in a trial over whether actor Ryan O'Neal will get to keep an Andy Warhol portrait of Farrah Fawcett.

The panel of six men and six women in Los Angeles reached a verdict Thursday. Their decision has not yet been announced.

O'Neal is being sued by the University of Texas at Austin, which is seeking possession of the portrait because the actress left the school all her artwork upon her death in June 2009.

Warhol created two portraits of Fawcett for a television special in 1980. O'Neal has testified the artist gave him one version and Fawcett the other.

Jurors heard roughly three weeks of testimony in the case, which began with opening statements Nov. 25.
