Man fatally shot in apparent road rage incident in Miami

MIAMI - The Florida Highway Patrol says a truck driver was fatally shot during an apparent road rage incident as rush hour was winding down on Miami's Palmetto Expressway.

Trooper Joe Sanchez tells news outlets there was an altercation between the man who was driving a tractor-trailer and a person driving a black Nissan Altima around 10 a.m. Friday. He didn't say what caused the road rage.

The shooting occurred on an off-ramp near Miami International Airport and further snarled traffic in a normally busy area.

The Miami Herald reports one person was taken into custody. But no names have been released.

Miami-Dade and Doral police departments were assisting in the crash investigation.

No further details were immediately available.
