TRENTON, N.J. - A day of celebration at the start of Gov. Chris Christie's second term could be tempered by multiple investigations into traffic tie-ups that appear to have been ordered by his staff for political retribution.

The governor is still holding all the customary events for Tuesday's inauguration.

The day is scheduled to start with an inaugural prayer service at Newark's New Hope Baptist Church before a swearing in and address in Trenton and a party on Ellis Island.

The island where 12 million immigrants passed through as they entered the United States is divided between New York and New Jersey. Christie's party will be held at a hall on the New York side.

As he did in 2010, Christie is using the festivities to raise money for some New Jersey charities.
