UPDATE: Some still under evacuation order in the Okanagan

Mount Eneas and Good Creek wildfires on July 20, 2018.

UPDATE: Even with some evacuation orders downgraded to alerts some still cannot return home because of two Okanagan wildfires.

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen sent out a media release this morning. It says there are five properties on evacuation order and 92 on evacuation alert in the district.

These are a result of the Mount Eneas wildfire along Highway 97 north of Summerland and the Meady Valley area northwest of Summerland. The wildfire is still classified as out of control on the B.C. Wildfire webpage.

Within the District of Summerland there are now 30 properties on Evacuation Order in the northern area of Garnet Valley and 108 properties on Evacuation alert in Garnet Valley and along Bridgeman Road.

Homes in the Penticton Indian Band remain on an Evacuation Alert due to the Mount Conkle wildfire. The band declared a local state of emergency on July 18th this wildfire. At this time, the wildfire is burning within the guard.
