KAMLOOPS - Police say a threat made to a Kamloops high school was not credible.

Kamloops RCMP responded to Sa-Hali Secondary School today, Sept. 18, after a threat was made to the school earlier this morning. The entire school was evacuated while police completed their investigation, according to an RCMP news release.

"Every threat made on a school is taken very seriously,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a release. “It takes a tremendous amount of resources to react to these threats to investigate the source of the threat. These resources are officers that could have been used responding to other calls.”

RCMP do not say what the nature of the threat was or how it was made.

For information on when students should resume classes go to the Sa-Hail Secondary School website here.

Parents can expect an email or a phone call with more information.
