A man was taken to hospital this weekend after a targeted shooting in Kamloops.
Kamloops RCMP said the victim is "known to police," but wouldn't say whether might be a connection to the gang conflict that flared up this past spring.
The Brocklehurst home where the victim was found is boarded up and police have left the scene, but the investigation is ongoing.
Officers were called to the scene around 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15. The victim's injuries were serious but not life-threatening, RCMP said in a news release.

The man was in a shed on the property when he was shot. How many people were involved isn't clear, but police said the suspects fled on foot through the backyard and toward the train tracks. Police didn't find any suspects after a search of the area and as of Monday have not identified any suspects.
“Although it’s still very early in the investigation, we can confirm the victim is known to police and the incident is believed to be targeted,” Kamloops RCMP Supt. Jeff Pelley said in the release.
It's the first Kamloops shooting known to have left someone injured in Kamloops since at least July.
A local gang conflict had escalated at to the alleged shooting of Cameron Cole, one of two opposing players police warned were targets in the violence. The conflict had been brewing for at least two months with arsons, then shootings before police warned the public of the two men on warring sides.

The violence among local gangs appeared to have quieted since the early July shooting.
Pelley said police are both working to investigate attacks like the one on Friday and to reduce them in the future.
“Incidents of serious violence in our communities, particularly those involving firearms, are very concerning to the public and to police. We remain steadfast in our efforts to continue to advance these investigations, while at the same time suppressing and reducing such events through strategized enforcement efforts," he said.
