A 57-year-old man is in custody in connection with a shooting near Princeton last week.
RCMP say officers were called to a report of shots fired at a home on Summers Creek Road, and on the street, at around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14.
Officers from the RCMP's heavily armed emergency response team were also dispatched to the call.
Police say two people were involved in the shooting and both were arrested at the scene. Neither person was injured.
One of the two was released with a future court date. RCMP don't say what if anything the person has been charged with.
The other suspect involved, the 57-year-old man, was kept behind bars waiting for a court appearance. Again, RCMP don't say what charges he's facing.
RCMP do say the investigation is ongoing.
“We realize incidents such as these can create fear and anxiety in a community," South Okanagan RCMP media relations officer Sgt. Jason Bayda said in a media release issued, Aug. 18.
"We are confidant this was an isolated incident and any risk to the public was quickly averted by the quick arrests."
