Two shootings in three days in Kamloops

Gunshots were fired at an apartment building in Kamloops' North Shore early this morning following a shooting in the Aberdeen neighbourhood on Saturday.

Officers were called to a report of gunfire at around 2:30 a.m. today, Sept. 18, in the 700 block of Tranquille Road, according to an RCMP media release. No one was injured.

“Based on the preliminary investigation, this morning’s incident appears to have been targeted,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release. “At this time, it’s unknown if it’s related to Saturday’s shooting in Aberdeen.”

Investigators are asking residents in the area who have security cameras or dash cams to check their footage.

“It’s very fortunate that no one was injured in either of this week’s occurrences, but the threat to the public associated with firearms offences is one that’s very real and can come with tragic consequences,” Cpl. Evelyn said. “It’s extremely important for anyone who has information that could help further this investigation to reach out to police as soon as possible.”

Those with information or video are asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-33922.
