KELOWNA - The long weekend has barely begun, but Central Okanagan Search and Rescue is already busy with work across Kelowna.
According to a press release, a dozen searchers responded to a call from the RCMP on Aug. 2 at 5:30 a.m. about a missing woman in the Smith Creek area of West Kelowna. She was found an hour later and taken to hospital.
12 hours later, BC Ambulance asked Search and Rescue to help stabilize and extract an injured mountain biker from the Kettle Valley Rail Trail. The woman crashed in Myra Canyon and suffered a compound fracture in her arm. She was taken to Kelowna General Hospital.
