PENTICTON - Penticton Search and Rescue was called to a quad rollover in the backcountry east of Okanagan Falls last night and rescued two people.
Search and Rescue spokesperson Randy Brown says in a press release 15 members were dispatched to assist a 34-year-old woman who had rolled her quad ATV at around 5:45 p.m. yesterday, July 10.
The search and rescue’s helicopter extraction team and two rescue vehicles responded to an area east of Okanagan Falls on a forest service road where the woman was found 40 feet down a hillside at around 6:40 p.m.
A 10-year-old boy was also found at the scene suffering from a possible fracture, Brown says.
Brown says the search and rescue volunteers turned the woman and boy over to paramedics and they were taken to hospital using a helicopter and ground transport.
The full extent of their injuries is not known.
