LAKE COUNTRY - Two local men are in hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after the ATV they were riding went down an embankment in Oyama yesterday.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10, RCMP responded to reports of an ATV rollover in Oyama. When they arrived to the 5000-block of Oyama Lake Road they found the ATV heavily damaged against a tree eight feet down an embankment.

A 46-year-old Lake Country man and a 42-year-old Kelowna man were both rushed to hospital in critical condition. Their injuries are serious and potentially life-threatening, Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a release.

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined but an RCMP collision resconstructionist has analyzed the scene and the ATV will undergo a full mechanical inspection. RCMP continue to investigate.
