Two additional COVID-19 cases have been found in connection with the outbreak at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital.

The discovery of the two new cases follows three cases identified yesterday, March 31, that occurred on the Level 3 Surgical Unit. The cases led Interior Health to declare an outbreak yesterday.

Interior Health is now expanding its request that anyone that was on the Level 3 Surgical Unit at the hospital from March 15 to March 29 should self-isolate for 14 days since they were discharged from the hospital.

Interior Health said in a media release that patients that shared a room with an individual that tested positive, and those at a high risk of exposure will be contacted by the health authority.

Interior Health says of the five COVID cases, three are patients and two staff members.
