Two men facing charges after RCMP find suspects in stolen vehicle

Two men are facing charges after being caught minutes after allegedly stealing a truck.

The owner of a Ford pickup truck thought he heard the vehicle being started at his residence on Hollywood Road South in Kelowna last night, July 28. He got outside just in time to see his truck driving away, and immediately called the Kelowna RCMP to report the theft.

Within minutes, Kelowna RCMP officers found the vehicle and followed it to a gas station in the 2100-block of Springfield Road where they arrested the driver and passenger without incident, according to an RCMP media release.

Two Kelowna men were held in custody and brought before the B.C. Provincial Court. The alleged driver, 40-year-old Daniel Anderson, is now facing charges of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, possession of break-in instruments, and two breaches of court orders.

The alleged passenger, 34-year-old Adam Isaac, is facing charges of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, possession of break-in instrument, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and breach of a court order.

They have both been remanded in custody for future court dates.

The RCMP is not releasing further information at this time.
