KAMLOOPS - Congratulations to former WolfPack men's volleyball players Gord Perrin and Kevin Tillie.

They have become the first athletes from TRU (this includes the school being the University College of the Cariboo and Cariboo College) to qualify for the Olympic Games.

Perrin, who played two seasons with the WolfPack in the mid 2000s is a part of Canada's National men's "A" team. They beat China and had to wait for Poland to down Australia to earn a berth to the Rio Olympics in July. Perrin led the way for Team Canada with 27 points in the five set win.

Earlier Tillie, who spent two seasons with the WolfPack (2009-10, 2010-11), was a member of Team France. They qualified earlier in the week at the World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Japan.

Both Perrin and Tillie achieved success while at TRU. Perrin was a CIS All-Canadian. Tillie was CIS Rookie of the Year.  Both players play professionally overseas. Tillie was in Poland last year while Perrin played in Italy.
