Two early morning break-ins hours apart in Kamloops

Kamloops RCMP responded to two break-ins early Sunday morning, just a few hours apart.

Officers from the rural detachment attended an auto shop on the Yellowhead Highway, around 2:48 a.m. on March 7, according to an RCMP release.

After checking surveillance footage, they found that two men with dark clothing and their faces covered broke in and fled the scene on foot. One of the suspects kicked a glass door to gain entry and stole a donation box. The two men fled southbound.

Around 5:47 a.m., just a few hours later, a retail store at Aberdeen Mall was broken into.

A man broke the store’s glass door, stole items, then left in a red Ford Explorer, RCMP said.

Police said the suspect was possibly Caucasian. He wore a red and black hat with a Honda logo, with a black hat and black shoes.

Kamloops RCMP are asking anyone with information to call 250-828-3000. With information related to the donation box, reference file 2021-7018 and reference 2021-7023 for the Aberdeen Mall break-in.
