Two drivers injured in head-on collision on Trans-Canada near Salmon Arm

Two drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a head-on collision on Highway 1 near Salmon Arm last night.

Salmon Arm RCMP and emergency personnel responded to a report of a head-on collision on the Trans-Canada Highway, approximately 10 kilometres east of Salmon Arm yesterday, Nov. 29, shortly before midnight.

Two pickup trucks traveling in opposite directions collided head-on, primarily impacting the driver’s side of both vehicles, according to an RCMP media release.

Both drivers were conscious and suffered what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, RCMP said. They were transported to hospital by ambulance.

The highway was closed for a period of time as the drivers of the two pick up trucks were treated and the wreckage was removed.

Police are investigating the incident.
