A second-storey fire at the Black Forest Motel in Penticton has displaced 25 people.

Accommodations have been provided for them by the Emergency Support Service program while an investigation is ongoing, Rob Trupp, Penticton Fire Department’s assistant Chief, said in an email.

The were no injuries related to the fire however one person was taken to the hospital, Trupp said.

“Fire crews achieved an excellent knockdown of the fire and contained it to the suite. Some water damage in adjoining suite.”
