LAKE COUNTRY - Traffic was backed up in both directions on Highway 97 in Lake Country today after two separate car crashes and a house fire.
Lake Country Fire Chief Steve Windsor says the crash that caused the most traffic problems happened close to noon, Nov. 2, while fire trucks and police were still on scene of a domestic dispute where the ex-husband allegedly tried to light his own house on fire.
While stopped at Beaver Lake Road on Highway 97 a woman was rear-ended by another vehicle. She was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
Meanwhile, a second crash was still in the cleanup stage a few blocks down Beaver Lake Road near Main Street. Windsor says a woman was backing out of her driveway when she was hit by a commercial vehicle.
“There was serious damage to both vehicles but no injuries,” he says.
Traffic has returned to normal according to Drive B.C.
