WINNIPEG - Did Hollywood actor Rob Lowe call Winnipeg a hellhole?

Lowe has been in the Manitoba capital to shoot a made-for-TV movie and wrote a message on Twitter Tuesday night that ended with the hashtag "#Trappedinahellhole".

Lowe was complaining about how he was watching the NBA playoffs on TV when the station interrupted the game for coverage of municipal elections.

However, there were no municipal elections in Manitoba Tuesday — Lowe was likely watching a TV station based in Grand Forks, N.D.

Winnipeg residents have fired back on Twitter, calling Lowe a jerk, a schmuck and other names.

One person suggested that Lowe's career is in a hellhole if he is shooting made-for-TV movies.
