TORONTO - A firefighter, a retired pro football player and a veterinarian are among the amateur cooks set to flex their chops in season 2 of "Masterchef Canada."
The list of home cooks for the new season of the popular cooking competition, which debuts Feb. 8 on CTV, also includes a Canadian military veteran, a radio host and a recording artist.
Dozens of contenders, who hail from across the country, are hoping to win the $100,000 cash prize.
The premiere episode will see the cooks prepare a signature dish during an audition round.
Michael Bonacini, Alvin Leung and Claudio Aprile are the show's judges.
