'The Listener' spinoff swaps telepathic powers for online webisode 'Switch'

TORONTO - An online spinoff of "The Listener" promotes the show's wise-cracking sidekick to super-hero.

While paramedic Toby Logan (played by Craig Olejnik) is the main crime-fighter on the CTV series, it's his EMS partner Oz who has the mind-reading abilities on "Switch."

The webisodes begin Aug. 15 on CTV.ca and the CTV App, debuting after "The Listener" airs on TV.

The super power flip flop occurs when Toby and Oz are jolted by a defibrillator while on duty. As a result, Toby's gift of telepathy is transferred to Oz.

Oz immediately takes advantage of his powers by winning at poker and trying to pick up women, while Toby tries to keep him focused on saving the world from destruction.

Producers say the show has some fun with the adage that "with great power comes great responsibility."
