PASADENA, Calif. - Fox's chief says television's traditional way of doing business has become obsolete.
Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly said Monday he's doing away with pilot season, where networks make test episodes of dozens of potential new shows in the spring to put some of them on their fall schedule.
Reilly says networks need more time to judge whether a show will work, and producers need more time to make them. So Fox already has several series in different stages of production.
Reilly also says he expects "Bones" to be back next year. He's not so sure about "The X-Factor."
