Michael Wekerle and Vikram Vij join 'Dragons' Den' as O'Leary and Croxon exit

TORONTO - Investment mogul Michael Wekerle and restaurant magnate Vikram Vij are entering the "Dragons' Den."

The two business titans replace outgoing judges Kevin O'Leary — one of the original dragons — and Internet whiz Bruce Croxon on the CBC-TV reality series.

CBC says Wekerle and Vij will be part of the ninth season, which begins taping in Toronto on March 24. They're expected to make their debuts in the fall.

Vij is already familiar to TV audiences as a judge on Food Network's "Top Chef Canada" and "Chopped Canada," as well as CBC's "Recipe to Riches." Wekerle made his fortune investing in tech and media companies and most recently founded the merchant banking firm Difference Capital.

They join marketing expert Arlene Dickinson, "The Wealthy Barber" author David Chilton and franchise king Jim Treliving in scrutinizing weekly pitches from wannabe entrepreneurs.

The current season of "Dragons' Den" airs Wednesdays on CBC-TV, with repeats on Sundays.
