TORONTO - Reality TV heart-throb Brody Jenner says he hasn't yet met famed step-sister Kim Kardashian's newborn baby girl, North, or the father, hip-hop giant Kanye West.

"I have not seen the baby, I have not held the baby," the former cast member of "The Hills" said in a telephone interview Friday. "It's a very new thing and Kim's got a ton, a ton of attention on her 24-7. So I'm the last person that wants to be like, 'Hey, I want to come over and see the baby.'

"I'll let her have her space and then when she's ready, I'll come check the little girl out."

As for West, "he's busy, he's travelling, I'm travelling," said Jenner. "But I hear great things about him from all my sisters, so I look forward to meeting him one day."

Jenner has been seen connecting with that side of his high-profile family lately on the new season of the hit reality series "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," which debuted earlier this month and airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on E!

Specifically, the sun-and-surf-loving 29-year-old has been finally getting to know his father, Olympic champion Bruce Jenner.

Jenner said his dad and mother, actress Linda Thompson, split when he was two and he doesn't think "it was the greatest of divorces."

"I don't really know what happened, I didn't really care growing up, just for a big portion of my life he wasn't really a part of it."

It was acclaimed Canadian composer David Foster — whom Thompson married in '91 but eventually divorced — who "basically raised us," said Jenner.

"David, he's the man. He was definitely there for me growing up, as a kid," he added.

"He taught us all the things you needed to know growing up, and, you know, how to be a man. David was incredible."

In recent months, Jenner felt it was time to finally get to know his biological father. When E! got wind of their bonding, the network asked to include the experience on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

"I think that the filming has kind of forced us to talk about things that I don't think we would have normally maybe brought up if the cameras weren't around," said Jenner.

"So I think it's been really good. I think we've really gotten to know each other a lot better and we're understanding each other a lot more. And our relationship grows every day. He just texted me, he wants to play golf today."

Of course, Jenner is no stranger to putting his personal life onscreen, having done so on shows including "The Hills," "The Princes of Malibu" and "Bromance."

But "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" is different, he said, because it deals with true emotions and "touches home base a little deeper and a little wilder."

"'The Hills' was a little more, I would say, fake than this show," said Jenner. "There was a long time when we weren't allowed to say anything about ('The Hills') and people were kind of curious whether it was real or it was fake.

"But now I think we're all able to say that it wasn't 100 per cent real."

Jenner is also known for high-profile relationships, including a two-year romance with Canadian singer Avril Lavigne, which ended in January 2012.

Jenner said he hasn't talked to Lavigne in a while. "I wish her the best. Of course we're very friendly. Everything's all good."

Recent headlines have been speculating on whether Jenner is now dating model Bryana Holly.

But he would only say, "I don't talk about my personal life. I've learned my lesson in that field."
