TV Blog Buzz: 'The Simpsons' Christmas couch gag, new season previews

A portrait from this years' The Simpson Christmas special couch gag that was leaked to YouTube is shown. THE CANADIAN PRESS/HO, Animation Domination

The infamous opening credits couch gags that set up "The Simpsons" each week have been leaked online in advance quite a few times this year, and a special Christmas edition is again streaming early on YouTube. You'll want to keep your mouse pointer over the pause button as there are tons of blink-and-you'll-miss them jokes in the 90-second clip. http://bit.ly/18ZYINf

When did TV shows start creating elaborate trailers for new seasons? The troubled comedy "Community" has set a pretty high standard with the teaser for its upcoming fifth season, which premieres on Jan. 2. It's probably not likely to win over many new viewers but the hilarious preview is an encouraging sign that the quirky show might be returning to its former glory. http://bit.ly/1fqZP7S

Coming on Feb. 14 to Netflix is a new season of the streaming service's original series "House of Cards," which also has its own teaser trailer. Kevin Spacey's ruthlessly ambitious character Francis Underwood looks to be even more diabolical than he was in season one. As it does with most of its original shows, Netflix will make all 13 episodes of the second season available to stream all at once on Valentine's Day. The political drama also stars Robin Wright, Kate Mara and Corey Stoll. http://bit.ly/1csdbN8

Most entertainment news websites are wrapping up the year by making lists of the year's best content. The Onion's A.V. Club is taking a different tack by highlighting the worst TV shows and moments that made it to air in 2013. They say "Dads" was the absolute worst new show, "Dexter" is trashed for its uninspired series finale, and they call Jenny McCarthy, who was signed on to "The View," the worst hire. http://avc.lu/1b39BIl
