VANCOUVER - After just over four years as president of hockey operations, the Vancouver Canucks have announced it's parting ways with Trevor Linden.

In a news release the Canucks state Linden is leaving the organization to "pursue different endeavors." During his time in the role, Linden oversaw all hockey operations areas including coaching, scouting, player development, and minor league affiliations and operations.

"There aren't many individuals in sport more connected to a team and a community than Trevor is in Vancouver," said Canucks managing partner, Francesco Aquilini in the release. "The Canucks are entering an exciting new era thanks in large part to Trevor's leadership and hard work. I thank Trevor for all of his accomplishments and I am confident that Jim Benning and his staff will continue that momentum in the months ahead."

Linden is one of the most accomplished players in Canucks history, and has leadership and community connections to B.C. that span more than two decades. He played 19 seasons in the NHL.

"I would like to thank Trevor for the opportunity he gave me and my family," said team general manager, Jim Benning. "I have thoroughly enjoyed working and learning from Trevor over the past four years. We still have lots of work to do, but I am proud of what we have built together so far in Vancouver."

No word yet on what Linden's new endeavors are.
