Two people died yesterday when the small aircraft they were flying went down outside Merritt.
Merritt RCMP said when emergency crews arrived on scene, the pilot and the passenger of the two-seat plane were both deceased.
The crash happened at around 7 p.m. Jul. 28, about two kilometres north of Merritt airport, east of Highway 5A.
Police say the plane was a homebuilt amphibious aircraft.
In a media release, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada said it has deployed a team of investigators to the site.
No other information has been given and it's not yet known what took place.
