Trans-Canada Highway to be closed in both directions

REVELSTOKE- Drivers might want to rethink their travel plans today, as the Trans-Canada is to be closed west of Revelstoke this afternoon.

Drive B.C. reports avalanche control work is being planned nine to 24 km west of Revelstoke, between Griffin Lake Avalanche Gate and Clanwilliam OH Bridge for 15.7 km. 

The closure is expected to begin today, Dec. 30, at 2:30 p.m. and last two hours until 4:30 p.m. There will be no detour available.
